REBOZO WORKSHOP
MAGIC OF REBOZO IN PERINATAL CARE
WITH GUADALUPE TRUEBA, LCCE, CLC, BDT(DONA) AND MIDWIFE – ADRIANA BARRI SPECIALIST IN REBOZOS.
Magic of Rebozo workshop for midwives, doulas, professionals e.g. “Traditional Mexican midwifery practices for pregnancy, birth and postpartum.” For both beginners and advanced: Learn strategies in the use of the rebozo and expand its benefits in pregnancy, both normal births and those that move away from their physiological course and after birth.
Comfort Measures Workshop to get started in the use and practice of the rebozo, to have an ancient tool that favors physiological births as well as comfort for women before, during and around birth. Guadalupe will go through all the strategies and techniques to relax the muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Advanced Workshop to deepen strategies in the use of the rebozo. Expand knowledge and renew oneself in this ancient and effective tool, for pregnancy, both in normal childbirth and in complicated childbirth, leading to the practice of its use beyond comfort for the woman in pregnancy, labor and postpartum. We are going to “dive deeper” with this supportive tool. Read both programs so you can have a better understanding of both courses. And I invite you to see the video so you can have an idea of the way Guadalupe teaches.
Introduction by Guadalupe Trueba
The “Rebozo” is a device that has always generated my great interest and enthusiasm for its versatility and its history… because is part of my culture… of my people… I have used it for childbirth support in hundreds of births with outstanding results.
The techniques demonstrated during the workshop will help stimulate attendants to use, share and provide more ideas in the search for better and healthier options for women in the marvellous and dynamic act of giving birth, caring for their babies and have a healthy postpartum experience. My source of inspiration and teachers – traditional midwives in Mexico – have used the Rebozo for hundreds of years to comfort pregnant women when in pain or discomfort, as well as to help the unborn infant into the most appropriate position for an easy birth. I will share these series of “rebozo techniques” to be used during pregnancy, birth and postpartum, in addition to my own experience using a rebozo while I give support to childbearing women.
The rebozo, or traditional Mexican shawl used by women for centuries, can help the future mother confront the challenge of late pregnancy and birth with greater comfort, confidence and security. After birth the “Closing Ceremony” with Rebozo and herbs bath gives new mothers the physical and emotional healing they need for a healthy postpartum experience.
During workshop, I will demonstrate several ways to include the rebozo as a resource for physical and emotional support for childbearing women, in combination with light and deep touch, aromatherapy, acupressure, positions for labor and birth as well as postpartum. If you are on mobile, roll down to see the advanced program.
